Fall Sale Section at NY and Co.!

Now I have ventured into my fair share of sales sections at my favorite shops and I will have to say what takes the cake is New York and Company! Every time I make my way over to see the latest seasons selections there is always a great rotation.  I mean the only answer is that they must be retail sale magicians.  It is almost like they sense me making my way to their store and “poof” amazing tops, dresses, jewelry galore! Next time I will be sure to strap a go pro to my head directed at my face so you can all enjoy my insane facial expressions of “ohhh’s, and ahhhh’s, and oh yas queen I am loving everything here!”  All jokes aside I wanted to share with you guys my latest find at the beginning of the fall season with this rose colored lace detailed cold shoulder top.  Perfect for a day out at the winery or apple picking.  When the weather gets a bit chillier this can also pair great with a military style jacket too. Unfortunately I was not able to find this top online, but I found a perfect one that is similar, scroll down for more!

That Communion Life…

So the last time I wore all white I was just about 8 years old, taking my first communion, that frizzy hair and socks with mary janes. Looking back on those photos makes me cringe a bit and that has probably been why I was not as fond of the white bottom white top…all white everything trend. I mean do not get me wrong I am all about a communion wafer and sip of wine on Sundays, but oh lord no to that lace dress! Feel free to enjoy the comic relief below:

Well now I have upgraded this look a bit and I have hopped on this trend!  The key to this look is material mixing.  In this look I have a pair of lace shorts from NY & Co. for under $40 and a sheer top from Nordstrom Rack for under $20.  If you plan on doing a poly blend, linen, or jean bottom make sure you have a material that is basically the opposite.  Such as a white jean can be paired with a crisp linen or a cotton top can be paired with a linen midi skirt.  If you give this advice a go and are still struggling with the all white add a jean or military style cargo jacket.  In terms of accessories keep it simple with a simple gold or a bold coral works perfect!

Thoughts, feelings, and emotions on this combo…ok and go!

The Year of the Romper

So can we all agree there is nothing worse than trying to hop on the romper trend and when you find that perfect one online, you order it, open the pretty box, put it on annnnnnnnd it fits like a pair of oshkosh overalls.  Totes looks cute on a todddler, but on a gal in her late twenties…ummmm no.  Well the great news is that I have found the perfect romper from New York and Co.! Bad news, is this look is from last years collection.  For me when trying on rompers they are usually to short, straps arent long enough, or I have an eternal wedgie.

The key for the perfect fit for a romper is all about the material.  Go with a light linen or cotton that has a bit of stretch in the right places. Also when trying on sizes I usually go up a size so that there is a bit of room for comfort in all the right places. For this look I love the pastels mixed with florals for a poolside look or throw a jean jacket on and you are weekend outing ready!

So this week I decided to do a romper challenge and head over to New York and Co. to see what kind of rompers are in season, stay tuned!

Print on Print on Print!

When I think back to the days of when my pants had prints on them they consisted of the classic Lisa Frank neon zebra design that at the time we loved. Now seeing the notification on my Facebook that I have been tagged in a picture of a picture have come back to haunt me with my braces and frizzy hair and those memorable pants. Untag, untag, untag, x one million. On the positive side of things the printed pant have made a comeback in a great way and you are now like, “Hey! Tag me in that photo Facebook friend, those pants are fierce!”

Have you been at your favorite store lately and saw those printed pants and paused to want to try on, but then think you can’t pull it off? Rewind to that moment, find your size, and hit up the dressing room. I know the old saying is you should not wear things that draw attention to what you want to hide. Forget those rules!  The most important thing is that if the fit is right, work it girl! If you are easing into this trend my best recommenation is go with a basic top and do a pop of color to complement the statement pant with accessories such as a clutch or earrings.

What color combo is your favorite on a printed pant? Comment below!
