The Perfect Last Minute Gift: Stitch Fix!

So I know that your inboxes and social media feeds have been filled with glorious gift guides for your loved ones. Believe me those have come in handy if you are like me and are laying around binge watching The Crown suddenly realizing, oh snap Christmas is this week, wait like in less than 7 days…gahhhhhhh!

To give you a visual interpretation just imagine me falling to the floor, going into fetal position, and just deciding to hibernate there till 2018. On the flip side this time of year is so fun and you want to make sure you are consuming yourself with the love and joy of your friends and family creating memories, those are truly the real gift. Alright…alright…enough with the sappy stuff, but seriously what are you going to get your best friend, girlfriend, sister, mother, or mother-in-law for Christmas so last minute? Welp babes I found it for ya, a Stitch Fix Clothing Subscription!

What is Stitch Fix you assssssk? Well, it is a clothing subscription that includes a virtual styling session with one of their stylists and they literally will ship directly the looks they put together for you! You only get charged for what you keep and you just send the rest back. So, now I know your thinking give me the scoop on what it really is like to do a clothing subscription box. Well, I did a test drive for you guys and I honestly can say that I am really impressed and the stylists were completely on point with sizing and style! So here is what to expect when jumping in to this subscription box service:

  • Super easy to sign up and if you register with this link you will have the $20 styling fee waived meaning that it is totally free to try it out, score! https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/15249342?sod=w&som=c
  • After registering I was quickly connected with my personal stylist which sent me an intro e-mail and it felt very welcoming and friendly, can’t get enough of good customer service! Then I had to fill out a questionnaire basically sharing what styles I am drawn to and what my style goals were. Best part these questions did not take me forever to answer, which I loved since I was a bit short on time.
  • Then before I knew it my items were shipped to me very promptly and it really felt like Christmas! To start there was a guide to the pieces that were in the box and how to style them with looks that you may even already have in you existing closet, which is great for versatility and can be a cost savings in the long run.
  • I mean the packaging is so professional too. Each piece is perfectly folded, wrapped, and all neat.
  • The pieces they sent me were absolutely what I was looking for. I wanted a mix between every day wear and also pieces that had me step outside my comfort zone, but all could be worn together or separate. I received 5 pieces and the ankle boots were the only ones that did not fit, but they were right up my alley in terms of style.

The looks you see throughout this post was everything they sent me and I am literally wearing head to toe Stitch Fix except for the jewelry, shoes and purse.  So in terms of gifting this to someone you are able to purchase a gift card for them that will go towards the pieces in their box, click here for more info on that. If you guys have any more questions on my experience, let me know! Happy Holidays!

Holiday Travel looks with Catherines Plus!

That moment when you are booking a trip for the holidays to fly home to see friends and family or you are traveling to that destination you have been saving for all year and you think “You know I need to start becoming more of a morning person, I will book this 6 am flight. I will get there early and totally make the most of my time at my destination.” Then that alarm goes off on the day of at 3 am and you sit their contemplating why did I make this life choice, I am not a morning person! Then approximately 5 snooze alarms later you throw on any clothes that are within reach in a hurry and sprint like a madwoman to your gate at the airport right before the doors closes. With a sigh of relief and a bit of sweat you have made your flight, but then realize you are still wearing your pajama shirt and it is inside out and backwards.

Ok, so maybe some of you have not experienced this personally, but I maybe…sort of…ok…yes I totally have. So when going on my next excursion I have made it a habit to start laying out my clothes the night before so I can just pick up and go. Now for these early flights the key is totally comfort especially if you want to catch some Z’s on the flight, but you still want to look put together.

On my latest trip I actually sported this flare sleeve knit sweater from Catherines Plus with leggings and ankle boots. I felt total comfort and with the bit of flare sleeve it made me feel like I could hop off the plane and start my day with a quick change of the bottoms into jeans and I am ready to go!

Catherines Plus has a serious selection online and in store, but I have done a bit of a roundup for you guys on my top travel sweater picks on my Instagram stories today. Also, if you live in the DMV Catherines just recently opened a store in Capital Heights, Maryland! The staff there are super friendly and they have an amazing selection from casual to night out looks and also athletic wear. What is your travel go-to looks? Share them with me guys!

Say Hello to Curves with Purpose!

Ok guys…we made it! We have survived the chaos that is Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday (insert chest bump). So the small biz that I wanted to highlight in celebration of this past Saturday is the brand, Curves with Purpose! At The Curvy Con this year I had the chance to meet the owner of Curves with Purpose, Nancy. We had a total coincidental run in of me asking her to take a photo of myself and two other bloggers and before you know it we are chatting about her new fashion line that she was launching.

Cut to now and I am collaborating with them to share with all of you their adorable fall and winter looks! That is what I love about this world of blogging and how a conversation turned into an amazing partnership.  There truly is nothing better than meeting the owner of a business in person and to know that your purchase is keeping their dream going and also you can feel fabulous in a unique piece of clothing…a total win win.

So what I love about this brand is these pieces have the feel like you could find them at Nordstrom, but the price point is totally reasonable.  I wanted to choose a piece that is a bit outside of what I am usually drawn to, which is faux leather. It is a material that I have wanted to be BFF’s with for some time, but the problem is that either there is no stretch, it’s so thick and the sweat begins, or I just don’t feel comfortable. So I selected some faux leather from their collection. Sounds kind of opposite of what I mentioned right? Well, I figured I may as well put this brand to the test to get me out of my comfort zone a bit so here is the Dana Plus Size Pencil Skirt.

I will have to say the material feels so lovely! It is not too thick or tight and it fits perfect around the waist area, which typically for me pencil skirts can be quite snug. Also, the tricky thing with faux leather is that it can look really cheap. As for this skirt though it had me fooled since it totally looks real! This skirt can be perfect for the office even paired with a blazer or a night on the town paired with a body suit like I have styled.

So I introduce you to Curves with Purpose and I did a round up of some of my favorite picks from this collection! What do you guys think, do you like their selection?
