Seven Purses…Four Days…

After packing for a long roadtrip my immediate inspiration for this week’s blog post was keeping it simple.  As I stand in the hotel room looking amongst my ravaged suit case trying to find my other sandal I realized that I had brought seven purses on a four day road trip…seven…siete…sieben…that is all the languages I know to say seven, but yes…seven. I mean I didn’t go to math school, but I would say those numbers do not match up.  As I scrolled through photos on my Iphone I noticed that one little clutch made an appearance in numerous occasions.  This one clutch  I am talking about is from TJ Maxx for only $17!  If you find yourself in similiar positions like myself with purse overkill there are three things to remember:

1. Size- selecting a clutch that does not make you look like you are Mary Poppins is imporant for packing for trips.  Honestly when you are out and about exploring new cities the essentials really are wallet, phone, camera, sunnies and chapstick which can all definetely fit in just the right size clutch.

2.  Color- Find a color that pops with unique details can make any outfit complete whether it is from day to night.  This means that you can keep it light on the packing since you have a killer accessory on hand!

3.  Optional Handle-  Being able to have the wrist clutch option for a day look and then detaching it for night is a perfect little detail to keep in mind when finding the perfect purse for your next summer trip.  Perfect two for one deal!

The Rise of the Printed Pant!

We have all heard the saying you should not wear large prints because it will draw attention to parts of your body that you want to hide.  Ummmm yeah about that…I think that idea needs to be put to rest.  The rise of the printed pant has come and I could not be more excited!  I believe that any style can be worn by any body type, but finding the right fit and color patterns are definetely key!  The pants I wanted to highlight in this post are from last season at New York and Co. for under $40!

 2015-05-03 20.10.16

I was drawn to the pattern at first glance and thought no wayyyyy could I ever pull these off.  Then my inner Beyonce emerged and I did an imaginary hair flip, pulled out the size 14, and made my way to the dressing room.  After slipping them on I immediately felt a sigh of relief that I did not have to do the traditional pants dance, you know the one I am talking about.  The lunge, jump, pull we have all had to do at one time or another in the dressing room almost on the verge of sweating to get a cute pair of jeans or dress pants on.

The key to statement pants shopping is to be on the lookout for lightweight material, especially in a poly blend for a bit of stretch but snug in the right places!  Also, the highwaisted look with the drawstring gave the look of these pants a casual feel, but can also be dazzled up a bit too.  I paired my fav tops from a basic to bold with details below to give you a visual of how to pattern clash and color coordinate as well!
