Attempting to eat gluten and dairy free over the holidays is as hard as trying to herd kittens. I mean at the end of the day I feel so blessed to be in a household surrounded by friends and family with so many wonderful food options so believe me this is not a post to rant. Overall cutting back on dairy and gluten is more of a mental game for me than anything. Taking a second to think ok if I have that yummy looking cheese or bread I know my stomach will pay for it later, so its not worth it. Almost like “my minds telling me nooooo, but my stomach, my stomach is telling me, yyyyyeeesssss!!” Ok, so I don’t have a career in making songs? Stick to blogging? Got it.
So as soon as I arrived at my family holiday party last week the first question I was asked was, “what would you like to drink?” Now my usual go-to is beer, but with trying to cut back on the gluten this option was a big no-no. Then I found myself aggressively googling what the heck you can drink that doesn’t have gluten! Well, if any one else is finding themselves in in a similar situation as mine let me save you the search. So here is a quick roundup of the top 5 drinks that I found. Keep in mind that I am just cutting back on the gluten so some of these drinks could contain trace amounts. Soooo if you have a serious gluten intolerance do a bit more research before placing the order with the bartender!
