Anyone else get a bit mesmerized by perfectly, shiny, pristine, nails on Instagram posts holding coffee, food, a purse, etc. Then there is me…no painted nails Sally. That is a nickname I just tried to create for myself, but that feels like a total and complete fail…moving on. Well when being mesmerized by the shiny nails I start to remember how my mom always told me how important it was to take care of your nails because they can say a lot about you! I mean when you think about it we use our hands for alotttttt of things. Being in the professional world during meetings and conferences a lot of hands are shaken meaning a lot of potential for nails to be seen. Now what does a girl do that wants to keep up the best first impression of nail care, but also cannot afford to get a manicure each week? Well, babes that is where my nail polish recommendation of Essie Gel Couture polish comes in.
Now a bit of a disclaimer. I am literally by no means a beauty blogger, I would say I am literally the farthest from that. In a usual day I am wearing minimal makeup and my hair in a frizzy top knot. With that being said I learn so much from all of you beauty bloggers out there that I guess you can see me as the guinea pig for those recommendations. Now that I have completely confused you let’s get back into talking nails.
So the Essie Gel Couture that is sold in your local CVS, Walgreens, or Target is basically a way to have the look of the gel no chip from the nail salon, but without the harsh UV rays that is not very good for your nails to begin with. So what is great about this polish is that it is super easy to use with just a couple coats of the main color polish and then topped off with the gel that will leave your nails feeling all shiny! Now at first when you see the price point of $20 for this combo, you may gasp a bit. If we do the math (another disclaimer…I am awful at Math) it can be a savings. For $20 you can get multiple uses out of the polish as oppose to $35-40 for one time to get them done.
So I decided to put this polish to the ultimate test. I am heading to a wedding this weekend and then into a really busy week so I am going to paint them and track how long they last without chipping. Tune into my Instagram stories during the week to see the final result!
