When I moved to Virginia little did I know that the state saying was “Virginia is for Lovers,” which I have to admit sounds alot better than the saying that comes to mind of my beloved homestate, Indiana,”There is more than corn in Indiana!” The beauty of northern Virginia where I reside is that I am in between Washington, DC and the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains. When driving south and viewing the skyline drive of the mountains I felt like I had that squinty eye, tilted head, “what is that” type of look on my face. I could not believe I was all up in a mountain range…I knew I should have paid attention during geography class instead of making MASH tests!
This past weekend my boyfriend and I made our way to southern Virginia towards the Tennesee border…and yes Dollywood is about an hour away from where we were…Dolly is mah girl! For a long road trip this time of the year always good to pack those cozy cute sweaters and bust out those boots!
Our first pit stop was at this amazing winery off of I-81, Bluestone Winery located in Bridgewater, VA. Amazing selection of reds and whites with amazing views of the Shenandoah Mountains. My look for our little wine tour was Athleta leggings, open side grey top from Target, shoes from Old Navy under $20, jacket on consignment for under $20, bag from Nordstrom Rack on sale for $35, and sunglasses from Old Navy under $20. Also, just a note I almost gave you all an action shot of me almost falling down the steep hill behind me, legs were definitely feeling the burn from keeping my balance!
The next day we made a stop in Bristol, TN and for all of the Nascar fans out there you definitely will recognize this sign! My outfit deets for our Saturday adventure is a sweater from Target for under $30, tank from Old Navy for under $25, and boots are from Goodwill for under $10. We also came across this amazing microbrewery, Bristol Brewery, that just opened this past summer with a great backporch and pretty generous tasting sizes of IPA, Porters, Lagers, and more!
After strolling around the quaint downtown of Bristol we then headed over to Wolfhills Brewery where you need to try their award winning White Blaze Honey Cream Ale! Such a vibrat scene filled vintage decor and who doesnt love live music starting in the early afternoon and heading into the late night scene! Book your next road trip to Virginia for all you lovas!
