Quilts…but make it fashion

A majority of my posts mention at some point about how I want to wear my sleeping bag to work or how can I make my pillow into a purse that I can lay my head on at any point of the day. Basically, how can I nap and make it fashion. Well, this post is not literally about that but something close! So I spotted in Refinery29 that quilted fabrics are in and all over the runway this season. The shows I went to in NY I did not see it as much, but here is a little example of what I mean.

Since seeing these shots I was like thank heavens I can finally wear some form of blanket in public without actually wearing a blanket. Have I confused you yet? Well, take this Eloquii faux leather quilt textured skirt that I wore for a night out to dinner at Le Song at Chelsea Market. I mean I do love a pencil skirt, but just the touch of flare and the gold studs gave it that edge I needed while still feeling comfortable. I paired this with a body suit, but this skirt can definitely transition to a daytime look for the office paired with a blouse you can tuck in and a blazer.

More recently thanks to Eloquii I become more of a skirt wearing gal. My biggest issue with the fit on skirts with certain brands or stores was either the fit was too tight in the tummy, the hem would hit at an awkward place, or there was just not a selection to brag home about in terms of style and prints. Eloquii has given me hope again to incorporate more skirts into my wardrobe this year. So this skirt I am wearing is not available any longer, but I did a round up of other beauties. From mini to midi and maxis it is sooooo gooooooood! Are you guys jumping for joy on the quilted trend!?
